Materials and Logistics: Solutions and Cost–Cutting Tips for Travel, Plein Air and Studio: Ron Boehmer

Beginner-Advanced; Location: VanDerVeer Studio Saturday, Sunday March 23, 24; 10am-4:30pm TUITION: Members: $205; Non-members $235 (includes materials fee)

Travel and outdoor painting tips, effective studio set-ups, and cost-effective strategies for materials and equipment will be the focus. Some issues covered: transporting wet paintings and pastels; how to use, maintain, and repair your French easel; brush selection; cleaning, and salvaging old crusty brushes; secrets of gesso prep; stretching and priming canvas; custom priming on your painting surfaces, inexpensive custom sketchbooks. Demonstrations and hands-on work. Students with broken French easels are encouraged to bring them to class for repair.
