Artists use different conventions when they do artwork. What is done within these conventions? Abstraction is no exception. Javier’s goal is to help the student get the necessary feedback for access to relevant information and help the art-making process and connection to ABSTRACTION. This is not an easy task and takes time and hard work. Through individual conversations and group exchanges, the students will gain new information to help revise past notions in order to make relevant changes for future experimentations.
It is not necessary to have taken ABSTRATION Part I before this workshop. The student will start where they are in their own personal development. This will become clearer as the student experiments within their art works.
Several media can be used with a focus on the medium chosen. A noticeable effort should be made to engage the medium fully and, in a way, to evoke a non-arbitrary purpose. More on this during the first 2 hours of the workshop.
