Robin is a professional artist and popular instructor at The Studio School in Roanoke, VA, and she teaches a variety of workshops throughout the mid-atlantic. She is also in her 10th year of co-leading overseas painting trips to France, Italy and the UK. During this workshop, you will enjoy two days of making art based on your observations on location. Robin will discuss materials and how to travel light, the nuances of planning and painting in public places, dealing with ever-changing light, and taking candid photos. You will learn how to create your own books (a surprisingly easy process), and techniques for working in pen & ink, watercolor, and watercolor pencil. Demos will be short and to the point so you can have ample time to sketch and paint from your own photos with individual attention as Robin circulates throughout the room. Supplies for this workshop will be basic, and all levels of painters can benefit, including true beginners. A nine-page watercolor paper and spiral bound mat board cover sketchbook will be included in the cost of the workshop. A materials list will be provided after registration.
