BSSS is excited to host these two out-of-state artists and instructors for a unique workshop. They are both part of the Perceptual Painters group that “explores contemporary observational painting with some
type of modernistic view.” (www.perceptualpainters.com). Brian and Matt will share their approaches to painting in free lectures and an information packed workshop. You will have the opportunity to watch demonstrations and receive help from both instructors as you paint the figure in both landscape and interior settings (weather permitting). Learn more about materials, color and light, composition, and modes of observation. Brian says “the purpose of painting is to tap into something that is profoundly human, something sensual that lies on the fringe of memory, a reality both strange and familiar.” www.mattklos.comwww.brianrego.com

“Matt is a wonderful teacher, very knowledgeable about art history, and has a keen eye. His focus on relationships and the artwork as a whole gave me a new understanding of my approach to painting.”
